Audition Preparation Workshop

August 13th, 15th, & 16th

  • Available for students from 3rd through 12th grades.

    Develop confidence through feedback while working on a music cut of your choice, cold reads, and working to tell the story.

    MONOLOUGE & SINGING
    In the monologue/singing workshop students will have a vocal warm-up and then work individually or in small groups on the chosen song cut. Each student will also receive time for working on their monologue choice. Feedback will be provided throughout and recordings, when able, will be emailed afterwards.

    For music cuts, students can use music for an upcoming audition or bring a 32 bar cut of a song of their choice. If participants are not sure what the best cut would be, bring the entire song and we'll work together on the best cut. Participants should bring 2 copies of music with them - one for them and one for the instructors. For Monologue Cuts, please bring a choice that is 30 seconds to 1 minute long. 2 copies is preferred as well.

    DANCE
    The dance workshop will include a physical warm-up and the dance cut for the Fall 2026 In the Mitten Productions shows: Matilda, Jr. and Elf, Jr.

    The monologue/singing workshop will last for 80 minutes and is $35 per participant. The dance workshop is 30 minutes and is $25 per participant. You can also do both for $50 per participant. We will have a short snack break time in between the two sessions.

    The workshops will be held at the In The Mitten Building located at 32825 Eight Mile Rd, Livonia, MI.
